Graham {7 Months}

Seriously? Another month has gone by so fast.  They are not kidding when they say, once you have kids time speeds up.  A lot has happened this month in Graham's little life.  First off, he got a tooth.  Second, he is on the move.  I know he was moving last month, but this month he decided he would explore.  He goes in the kitchen, entry way, from the bedroom to the bathroom.  He is much faster now as well.  Granted he is still army crawling, which is fine by me, I don't think I'm ready for him to be on all fours yet. 
He has continued to be an easy baby, and follows a pretty regular routine  Though toward the end of the month, he started pushing that morning nap back an hour with is actually nice because we can get something done in the morning if needed.  He is still sleeping through the night, and consistently wakes up at 6:50.  I'm convinced that he somehow hears Adam's alarm go off.  Because on the weekend's he has been sleeping until almost 8.  But Adam hardly hears his alarm so I have no idea how that would be happening. 

This month he has started noticing Dylan more.  Dylan can make him giggle, and that just melts my heart.  He isn't much of a giggler.  Not like Dylan.  He will giggle if you make him do the motions to itsy bitsy spider, if you tickle him, or if he is really sleeping, then he finds things all kinds of funny.  Dylan currently still loves him, shares his toys with him.  Tries to share his snacks with him.  Always, says "Hi bubba" when he sees him.  I know they are going to be the best of friends and never fight right?

The most recent development in Graham's life is his ability to pull up.  I lowered his crib because he would try to pull up on the bumper and I thought "better safe than sorry" That next nap time, I went in to see him chilling on his knees looking over the edge.  WAY TO BIG.  Then last night of all nights, I was laying next to him on the floor and the kid pulled up to STANDING on me.  Adam and I were floored.  That new talent made pictures on the chair quite entertaining, to say the least. 

He is eating like a champ, though he hasn't really figured out puffs or Mumum's yet.  He seems to have a very strong gag reflex still.  If he gets something on his tongue he pretty much always vomits.  It's sad.  I cant wait until the day I can drop some puffs in front of him and him be entertained for ten minuets.  We also haven't tried him in a high chair at a restaurant yet, but he has pretty much mastered sitting on the floor, so we will probably try soon.

Easter 2012

I was looking through my posts from April, since you know, it's May now and I realized that I didn't do an Easter post.  Granted, nothing particularly excited happened or anything, but oh well. 

Dylan was much more into the Easter egg hunts this year.  He sadly had to miss the neighborhood one, because he decided running a 101 fever was more fun that weekend.  Luckily, that one was the week before.  He also had an egg hunt at school.  His teachers told me he didn't really get it at first, and he would just follow his friends around and watch them pick up eggs.  But with a little guidance, he figured it out and found his allotted 12 eggs.  The last egg hunt we did was at Adam's parents church.  let me just tell you it was amazing that we were able to get both boys up, dressed, fed, and ourselves looking decent to make it to church on the other side of town by 10.  Amazing I tell you.  I of course didn't get even ONE picture of Graham on his first Easter.  Talk about a mom fail big time.  I did get a picture of his basket though!:) 

Anyway, So we attended church, and then the egg hunt for the under 3 kids was right after.  Dylan showed very little interest in picking up the eggs that were in plain sight, but I'll tell you, once he saw one that was open and it had stickers in it, he was literally running around grabbing them and putting them into his basket.  I loved that many of his eggs didn't have candy.  They had stickers, or gummy snacks.  we are set on stickers for a while now, which is great, because Dylan loves to stick them to his head.

 One of these years, I plan on doing our own egg hunt in the yard, but it always seems we have somewhere else to be.  It is just a tradition that I want to start.  I don't remember too much about when I was little, but I do have proof with pictures that my sister and I would be dressed in our little Easter dresses outside in our front yard digging in monkey grass for eggs. Maybe when they are older and Adam and I can really hide them.:)

Say Cheese

As many of you know, Dylan was a little bit of a camera hog in his early days. By early I mean, up until a few months ago. If he saw a camera, he would smile. Not so much anymore. Now when he sees a camera, he says " I dee, I dee" and runs to me to show him the picture. This is ofter before I am even able to snap a picture. When I asked him to smile for me, these are the faces I get, followed by the hands over face.  I'll admit, he was being a bit more dramatic in these photo's than he usually is, but it's still funny. He loves when I take pictures of Graham, and sometimes even wants to be in said pictures. I guess it's just a sign of him getting older. Man, he is so old.

I really hope he grows out of this stage, because I love having pictures of him. At least I still have Graham for another couple of years.

Car Seats

I am a big believer in the fact that there a one billion ways to raise kids.  But one thing I am  firm on in is my children's safety.  So when I saw this little comparison, it made me really happy I have chosen to rear face as long as I can.  Now, I am not saying that I think people who turn their babies around at one are bad parents, because I'm not.  I just thought that I would share this with everyone so that maybe I could change some minds.

I am also aware that the chances of being in a head on collision that is at high speeds is unlikely, but why risk it right? Dylan will be rear facing until he can no longer.  I don't care that he can't watch TV, or look out the window.  Those are things he doesn't know he is missing anyway right?  I know, I'm mean.

Graham { 6 Months}

I can't believe he is already 6 months old. We had a great month this month. It was the month of a really established routine, learning new things, and a happy baby. Graham has really started to show his personality. He is our observer. He looks at something for a while before attacking it. When strangers smile at him or something, he gives them this " who are you" look. He is slowly coming out of his shell though. He is super ticklish, which is good, because as he gets older, that is how we will get him up of a bad mood, tickling. It works well for Dylan at least.



He really got into a great routine this month. He wakes at 7-7:30( we really need to work on getting this later) takes a nap from about 9-11, then another nap at about 2ish-4. Then bed about 7:30-8ish. He only strayed from this a few times, so we will take it. Luckily he is pretty adaptable when he has to sleep in the car, or chic fil a.


We were blessed with another content baby. Some mornings, Graham will just hang out in his crib playing for 30-40 minuets, before he starts to get really hungry and yells for us. He loves to play with his clothes, he has this one sleeper that has bugs on it. You can watch him stare at the bugs then try to grab them, it's pretty funny.



He still loves his bouncer, and spends a lot of time in it. I really need to get out the "car." Maybe this weekend. He still won't lay down on his back for more than 5 seconds, which has really caused diaper changes to be a huge struggle. I thought that I had at least another few months before I would have to start pinning him down with my feet. No such luck. I certainly get a workout in. Speaking of workouts, the kid is on the move. He is army crawling y'all. I mean, if he see's something across the room he wants, he will go get it. Erin is going to have her hands full at the end of May when she watched them both for a week.


I took him to his well check today, and the doctor was a little concerned ( maybe concerned isn't the correct word) about him dropping a little in the weight percentiles. He told me to start feeding him more solids, because he is already taking a great amount of formula. I then told him he is already getting two ounces, three times a day. Then he just looked at him and said, well, he is a mover, so I I guess he is just going to thin out as he moves more, which is fine. I have a long lean guy again. The nurse even called him skinny. I think he is a fatty compared to another little boy that lives in this house.

But this month has been a great one, and I am so excited for him to keep developing his little personality, and really grow up. Although it makes me sad to think this little guy is getting so big.

6 Month Stats:

28 inches- 90th percentile

16 lbs 3 oz- 15-20 th percentile (according to the online scale)

Tried all kinds of foods this month- Zucchini, Asparagus, Peas, green beans, sweet potato's, carrots, butternut squash. Luckily he loves them all.

Eating 4, 7 ounce bottles

Wearing 6-9 month footed sleepers, 3-6 month footless sleepers, 6 month onesies
