Monday Menu

This week, I learned that going to the grocery store with a menu in hand is far cheaper than me having to go every other day to find something to make. Last night, Adam made dinner, it was nice, Dylan played by himself, which usually when someone is in the kitchen these days, he is trying to climb up their leg and whining! So I got to watch some TV, and have dinner made for me! Of course it was yummy!

Menu:

Sunday: Schnitzel with mushroom sauce, with steamed veggies in cheese sauce. ( everyone should make this, it was SOO GOOD!)

The pizza from last week that we never got around to making!
Ribs, with baked beans and potato salad
General TSO's chicken, brown rice
Breakfast for dinner, Waffles and fruit salad.

Menu

I know I really fell off the wagon with posting menus. Maybe because I didn't think anyone cared, or looked. Adam and I fell off the wagon with MAKING menu's and started eating out a lot. Well the last few weeks we've made a menu and gone shopping on Sunday. Maybe a new routine for us? Anyway, I thought that I would start sharing them with you again, hopefully on Monday's but who knows really!

So this week we are having, in no particular order:

Eggplant Parmesan, Italian salad

French Onion Soup, salad

French Dips ( using left over soup)

Homemade chicken, spinach and roasted garlic pizza, probably a salad!

Chicken Tikka Masala, homemade pizza dough "NAAN", tomato and cucumber salad

Some random snacks and lunch items I made this week were granola, tuna salad, and breakfast burritos!

Whatever day Menu

Well this week, I don't really have a menu. I desperately need to get to the store, but seeing as 3 days out of this week, we already have dinner plans, it really doesn't motivate me to get there.

Last night, Dylan and I joined Daddy at his soccer game, as well and grandma and grandpa and aunt Laura. It was an early game, 5:30, so we went out to eat at the Main Street Bistro afterward.

Tonight, we have a wine and chocolate cake tasting charity event. Just so that we won't eat cake before hand, we are going to Supper Salads for something quick and light before hand.

Tomorrow night, we are going to the Capitol Grill for a 6 course tasting dinner, which will be accompanied by 6 different glasses of wine as well.

So of course anything that I make for dinner this week is going to pale in comparison. But this weekend I think I'm going to make some meals to freeze. Truth is, I'm lazy. I prefer to take a nap while Dylan is napping, not make dinner. So, I figure while Adam is around I can stock up.

So, I'm going to make...

Meatballs, lots of meat balls, so that I can make many things with them.

Smothered Pork chops. I've made these before, just not frozen them

Enchiladas

For snacks, I'm thinking of making...

And for some breakfasts:

Pancakes, little ones, Dylan sized ones.

Breakfast burritos- A staple in our house. I try to make them often, they are just easy and filling!

That is what is on the agenda for this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes!

Monday Menu

Alright, so I guess this is actually false advertising. We haven't thought of a menu for this week. Tonight, we had some spinach and cheese stuffed shells, which were yummy. But I'm not sure what we're going to be having this week. Friday night we will be out because we are going to the Rangers game.

Tomorrow I'll be making Dylan some dinners, maybe his peas will give me some inspiration!;) Gotta love pureed peas and cauliflower! Hopefully I'll update this tomorrow with a more thought out menu!!

Once Again...

Maybe I should call it, " Whatever day menu's" Lol... this week is going pretty quickly. Monday night/ Tuesday morning, Dylan woke up 3 times. Now, I'll tell you, he has slept through the night since about 8 weeks. Maybe woken up at night like once or twice since then. So I'll tell you, I was not a happy camper when my poor baby was up THREE times on Monday night! Then yesterday, he started running a fever. I'm pretty sure it's those top two teeth, because for the most part, he feels alright. He is playing and happy, just a little fussy. He managed to sleep though the night last night and is down for a nap right now, so everything must be good! So... on to our menu this week.

Monday ( Wednesday) Menu:

Burgers ( we ate these last night at 9, so we had a bag of chips with it. Healthy right?)

roast beef sammies, with the left of pot roast

Spinach and ricotta stuffed shells

So nothing too exciting this week. Now I've gotta go clean!

Late Again... Monday Menu

Well, once again, Monday slipped by me. Not that I do anything to important, but we were out and about running around yesterday! So this week's menu, was made mostly by Adam, because he did the grocery shopping this weekend ( it was a treat, he even took Dylan, so I had the whole house to myself for like 2 hours!!!)
You might also notice a few repeats, its not because we liked it so much that we are having it again, but more because we didn't get around to having it when I originally posted it. With Laura being in town, we've eaten out like 2 week, which is nice, because I can't seem to keep ahead of the game with a clean kitchen.:)

Mushroom Quesadillas from our Lourdes Castro cook book. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a good Mexican one, very easy but interesting recipes.

Beef Stroganoff ( with left over mushrooms, and some of the 50 lb bag of pasta we have from Sam's.)

Creamy Taco Mac- I grew up on hamburger helper. I introduced it to Adam. It's really bad for you. We haven't had it in years, hope this is good!

Mushroom soup- Because we STILL have mushrooms, maybe I got a little carried away with the mushrooms!

I need some help with veggie side dishes, I am pretty good at getting a main dish, it's just those sides I have trouble with. Anyone have some interesting things to share?

Where does time go?

I really didn't even realize that I hadn't posted in over a week until this morning. Time is just zipping right on by. We've been busy, I guess. It's either, shopping, lunch dates with Aunt Erin, grocery shopping, dinner dates with grandma and grandpa or just hanging out in our PJ's, Dylan and I's day just seems to slip between my fingers. I'm going to be combining this with the Monday menu, I've already been very pleased with the two meals I've made this week, so hopefully I can keep it going.

Can you believe it's September? Tomorrow my baby boy turns NINE months old. Talk about time just slipping by. He's been up to a lot, so hopefully, I'll be able to put a post together with pictures, video's and is tales tomorrow. His Aunt Laura just came home from NYC, so I would venture to guess you'll be seeing him with her in some pictures the next few months, before she makes her way to her new home. Sydney Australia... speaking of, I should get Dylan a passport, better yet, I should get Dylan's birth certificates;)

So Monday Menu... on Wednesday!
Beef and Broccoli Orange Stir Fry- This was yummy, I accidentaly put to much flour in it so it was a little dry, but had great flavor. I also used whole wheat pasta instead of soba noodles!

Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches- One of my favorite things in Philly. I wasn't a huge cheese steak fan. But these were yummy. I used Franks Red hot instead of the wing sauce. Though I'm sure they are the same thing!

Stuffed Peppers- I got a recipe from an old friend from high School. We will have this with a loaded salad.

Wild Mushroom Quesadillas- From a cookbook we have. Along with a black bean salsa recipe I got from my neighbor!

A non dinner item I made this week was S'mores Granola Bars. So NOT healthy in any way, shape or form... but DELECTABLE!

Monday Menu

This weeks menu is pretty worldly. We have planned cuisine from all over. With much help from my husband, we have put together what we feel like is an exciting week on the food front. Most of these are recipes out of our cookbooks, so check back for recipes as I post them throughout the week.

-Smoked Brisket with coleslaw

-Fresh Corn Soup topped with Roasted Corn Guacamole with a side of Smoked Chicken.

-Crab Tostadas with Quinoa

-Spaghetti with homemade meat sauce with a fresh green salad

-Sloppy Bombay Joes and something on the side, no idea yet though... maybe some green beans
Because we have some smoked chicken left over, probably like quesadillas and black bean salsa or something. We smoked a brisket and some chicken breasts yesterday, can you tell?

Monday Menu FAIL!

Wow, my second week and I have already failed. Sorry guys. This week as been crazy for food. We had a dinner party on Saturday night, so Sunday we ate leftovers from that. Then last night Adam and Andrew played in a soccer game that Dylan and I went to, so we just picked up food on the way home. Tonight, Adam and I are going to the Jack Johnson concert, so we are going out to eat before hand.

For the dinner party we( Adam ) made a mean Mushroom flat bread( homemade pizza crust) so maybe I'll share that with you guys. This afternoon I also plan on making some "clean" blueberry muffins. I'll let you know how that goes. Feel free to share recipes you think I should put on the menu for NEXT week, so I can start working on it tomorrow!! I hope I won't fail again!:)

Monday Menu

Alright, here it goes, my first every Monday Menu. Thanks for those who shared some recipes with me. They will make it onto next weeks menu. We had a lot of carry over from last week since Adam's parent returned home from a month long European vacation, we joined them for dinner one night, as well as a girls night for me, where I was kind enough to bring Adam dinner!

On the menu this week:

Homemade Oven Fries

Possibly a soup of some kind

Grilled Lamb Chops

Probably some chicken dish that has yet to be determined
green salad

Now I hope to make the menu's more detailed than this, but I didn't really have to think that hard because these were mainly from last week. So hopefully in the future I will have more detailed dinners.

Please submit some recipes for me to try. You might see them on my menu next week!

Help me help you!

So one of my " duties" if you will as a stay at home mom is making/ thinking of what to make for dinner. So I'm coming to you all. I do my grocery shopping on Monday, seeing as the crowds are a minimum and I can get in and out quickly. I'm going to start a weekly menu post, to be posted on every Monday. I will link to all the recipes I am using, or type them out. In hopes that y'all could provide me some new recipes. I tend to get stuck in a rut( which in turn might help you as well). Lots of chicken, and not a whole lot of other things. We don't really eat a lot of fish, definitely no salmon. I hope to have 1 fish meal a week, as well as a vegetarian meal. So PLEASE... link me to some of your favorite recipes.

I'll try them out I promise! Get me out of my rut! First menu will be posted tomorrow!:)
