A little Skunky!

Well, we have finally experienced something horrific with not having a FENCED back yard!! On Sunday night ( Monday morning) at 1AM, Louie and Bailey went outside for their last trip before bed, little did we know there would be a "little black kitty" waiting in the shadows, for our dogs who know no better, than to run after every little creature we have. Before we could stop them, Louie was hit!!! That's right, Louie was sprayed by a SKUNK!! That's right a SKUNK!!! Something that I feel could have been prevented if only we had a fence around our .5 Acre yard!!! Well let me tell you, he was not at all excited, because he is so smart, he was sprayed right in the face, got it in the eyes, and mouth. Needless to say, he wasn't feeling good about his decision. Since he has had several baths, but nothing is working to get the stink off of his face!!! I took some picture of that night to commemorate the occasion that I hope will NEVER happen again!!! And for those of you who have never smelled fresh skunk spray, you are not missing anything. It smells nothing, I repeat, NOTHING like a dead skunk on the side of the road!!! Enjoy the pictures of our poor baby having to get a bath, and trying to rub it off in the sun room!!!

Summer Bumming!

Well, currently neither Adam or I have jobs, so we are enjoying our summer hanging out, and best of all cooking! We have made delicious homemade meals almost every night, I can't even remember the last time we went out to eat!!! I'm so glad that I married a man who loves to cook, as much as I love to eat! One thing we have really learned to do this summer is make ice cream, we've had an ice cream maker for a couple of years now, but we have made a lot this summer. Vanilla, sweet cream, chocolate, cookies and cream, and every single one has been GREAT!!! ON another note, I realized today that the bushes that the dogs always go and roll around in are LILIES!!! Orange ones at that, so now I have hydrangeas, and lilies blooming, both of which I didn't plant and didn't do anything too!!!! EXCITING, fresh cut flowers everyday! I hope to get some pictures posted on here if I can!!! We are officially coming home in August, the 13-18!!!! :)

We're Handy!!!

Well as it turns out a little DRAINO fixed out sink issue!!! We were pretty excited about that!!! That's about the only exciting thing that has happened. This past weekend was really hot here like heat index of 101 or so!! So we spent most of our weekend in the pool. We were really worried that it was going to be really cold becuase the last time we swam ( August) the water was freezing!! Well I don't know if it is our new liner or just the heat but the pool is PERFECT!!! It's reading that it is 90! Which when it is hot outside is a little warm but at least it's easy to get into.:) Today it was 80 something and it was nice!!! I also called in this week for temping, the guy I talked to was suprised I had a degree, so I had to explain that we were not going to be here long enough for anyone to actually hire me! OH WELL!
We have started to plan our trip home it looks like it's going to be in the middle of August, the hottest time in Dallas, we are not FOR SURE set on the dates though, but it'll be nice, we just gotta make sure we have a babysitter for the doggies! Which I don't think will be a problem!

When it rains, it Pours...

Well one thing that Adam and I have learned is that homeownership bites!!! We have an above ground pool at our house, and since it gets cold here in the winter we have to cover it, we should have known then, it was the biggest pain to cover. Well upon uncovering it Memorial Day weekend, we came to find a tear in the lining. Know of course this was a tear that we couldn't just patch. We had to buy a new liner which ultimatly put us back a grand. Well at the beginning of this week we noticed our kitchen sink was backing up, so today a plumber came out and well of course once again it wasn't a clog he could get out with his magic machine! So they have to CUT our pipe( We have a copper pipe that can't just be unscrewed)and replace it with a new one. Again another $750!!!! GEEZ... I'm frustrated with this house right now!!!

On a good note, our new pool liner looks GREAT and we are getting to swim tomorrow we have an " excessive heat watch" for the weekend when it is going to be like 96!!! So we are excited about that, I went and bought us some floaties today!:)

I Caved!!

Well after reading other people's blog I have finally caved. I figured since we are so far away from our friends and family, this could maybe keep everyone updated on us. Though I can't say anything to terribly exciting has happened!!! So I'll start off with a recap of the past year!!

In a year we have:
Gotten Married
Graduated from college
Bought a house
Moved across the country to PA
Adam started his MA program at the University of Penn
We got a wild puppy named Bailey
Celebrated our one year anniversary!!

I think that is everything!!! I will try to stay current with this!!
