A day in the life...

Being a stay at home mom is different for everyone. Though it's probably not what you picture, unless you are in fact a stay at home mom. I don't get paid, unless you count kisses and hugs.Being a stay at home mom is very time consuming. I know right? I know you guys just thought that I sit around watching soap operas, making homemade goodies, and getting my hair done. Well lets face the facts. I wish. It actually involves chasing Dylan around in hopes of catching him so I can put his diaper on. It's our daily game. Once I get the diaper on, he takes off, then I have to catch him to put on his shirt, you get the idea, I have to do that about 14 times until we get him dressed to go "play." Which might actually be, the grocery store. I'm not above bribery people.

By the time his one nap a day rolls around, I'm pooped, speaking of, we had to play the above mentioned " game" 4 times yesterday. He pooped 4 times in about 2 hours. No more beans for him. Anyway, I'm pooped, therefore this blog has been abandoned. I am hoping the month of July will be better. No promises.

I thought that I would share with you what Dylan and I do, or don't actually do during a day. I'm going to use today for my model, though it's not always this fun.

8:15 AM- Dylan wakes up. I go get him and then give him a sippy of milk and a snack cup of cheerios while I get dressed.

9:00 AM- wrestle him into his car seat ( I made the mistake of letting him walk to the car himself, thus he thought he got to go out front to play) and head to Goodyear to replace ALL FOUR TIRES on my car. I was told that it would take an hour.

11:30 AM- After dropping several hundred dollars on tires, oil change and alignment we can leave. Please note how long we have been in Goodyear. NOT one hour:)

Noon: Dylan takes a nap, I go to mow the backyard. Yes, I'm pregnant. Yes, It's 900 degrees outside. Yes, it had been about 3 weeks, so it was like a jungle back there. Yes, that is my exercise for the day.

2:30 ( I hope)- Dylan wakes up, eats lunch, we head to the grocery store. Which once again, I've been putting off for a week!

After the grocery store, we might make the trip down to the pool. This 6 month pregnant lady needs to be weightless for a bit.

So there you have it folks, notice that there is no soap opera watching, or hair do-ing going on. I'll be lucky if I make it to the shower! Oh well, I wouldn't change it for anything.

Happy Fathers Day

Dear Daddy,

I love you even though you steal my food.

I think we look alike, I don't care what Mommy says.

You give GREAT kisses!

I love you, and your the greatest Daddy in the whole wide world, so I guess I'll share my snack.

Love,

Your favorite son... for now.

Shoulda

I have decided that instead of Dylan Kyle, we should have named him Dylan Monkey. Everyday, this little guy finds something new to stand on, or climb into or out of.

He is just loving going to the pool so much, he will sit in his float until I give in and take him to the water! Smart fella.

(Please excuse the hole in the sock!)

Doesn't he look like he knows what he is doing? Reality is... he's stuck. He will get there then yell for me to come help him. He hasn't figured out how to get down yet. Silly Monkey.

Fun Weekend... late of course!

I have no excuse for the lack of quality, if you want to call them that, posts. I've been lazy. It's impossible to post while Dylan is awake, and I'm either catching up on chores or sleeping when he is asleep!

This past Memorial day weekend was probably the best we've had in a long while. We got so much accomplished. I think Daddy's should always have 3 day weekends. It's good for a Mom's soul!

Friday went a little something like this. I was going to take Dylan over to the Grandparents at like 2, but he decided he wanted to take a four hour nap. We didn't get over there until almost 5. I dropped him off and went to enjoy a manicure. I decided to get a gel manicure, you know, those that are supposed to last 2 weeks. Lets just say, mine came off on Monday! Then it was a dinner date for Adam and I's four year anniversary. We enjoyed a nice steak dinner at Bob's steak house. Side note: I have yet to find a steak I like as much as Bob's.

Saturday, we got up so that Adam and Colter could try to score some NBA playoff tickets. That didn't work, because I'm pretty sure the online purchasing program is rigged. After that failure, Adam was searching Craigslist for a non-shady person who was selling their tickets. That preoccupied him most of the day. Luckily, I didn't need his brain to be there when we went to purchase furniture for the new nursery. I really just needed him to sit in some chairs and tell me if they were comfy or not. Mission accomplished. We then continued our child-free day with lunch at the Purple Cow. Ya'll, they have fried pickle spears. No one but Burger Island has those! YUM.

We eventually made our way down to Northpark Mall to meet some guy to buy his Mav's tickets for game 5. (Luckily, there will BE a game 5.) After going all the way down there, we treated ourselves to pedicures. I love me a good pedi, as does Adam. After we had to go and pick up our lovely little boy! We met Grandma, Grandpa and Dylan at Pappadeux for dinner.

Sunday, we had another fun filled BBQ to attend. Becca was nice enough to invite us to her family's get together. Dylan had a blast getting to play with his friends Carson, and Ryder. He loved carrying the soccer ball around. He wasn't to fond of the water slide, I think because the water was so cold, because usually he is all over the water, and slides for that matter. Heck, he even got to play some volleyball, and make a new Mimi friend!:) We had a great weekend.
