No news is good news!

Well over the weekend, nothing good happened:) We had a contractor come out and look at the bathroom wall, said he could re dry-wall it for about 40 bucks! But that the tiler man should be able to do it was well! We'll see. The tiler is coming out today. Friday night we went downtown to play some poker, it was a GREAT game, 11 people, but WAY to crowded for my liking. I'm surprised I don't have bruised knee's from the many times I was rammed by someones ( mostly Adam's) chair. But all in all it was a great game, I lost my $10 but Adam won like 30 so we were good to go!

The rest of the weekend, I don't believe that I even left the house... nope, sure didn't. It was great. We watched TV, and that's about it!! So I guess, yeah we don't do much. Though we did realize that Adam is going to be leaving soon, and we haven't done ANYTHING on the house we needed to do. I.E Painting, so I guess I'm going to get to do that!! Oh Boy...

So I guess as the title says: "No news is good news!" Have a Happy week!

The ripe old age....

of 24. You know, once you hit a certain point in life, getting older doesn't really feel any different. I feel no different now, than when I was 21. Though I'm married and live 1000 miles from most of my friends and family. My birthday was very low key this year, no fancy restaurant, which is what we usually do, and we even had a " third wheel." It started out this morning when I was presented with a new robe, it is the softest thing I've ever felt, and truly wanted to wear it to work. I had also received a box from the In-Laws earlier in the week that I had to not open until Monday which was SOOO hard. But in it was this little Lovely!
I LOVE IT SOOO MUCH!!! For another birthday gift Adam is going to buy me a wallet to go with it, but he wanted me to pick one out before he bought it... isn't he smart?;)
For dinner, it was Mexican food and Margaritas for turning 24. It was so good, pretty good company too!:) After work ( Boo:() I went down town to meet Adam and David for dinner. We walked over to Mad Mex, and even made it in time for some Happy Hour rita prices, nice. We all got big AZZ Ritas as they were called, which apparently are equivalent to 4!:) Needless to say, I was happy after dinner!:) We went home where we were going to drink the bottle of champagne that we had, but decided we were to far gone already, and of course, I had work in the morning!!! So we hit the hay! It was a great birthday! Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes, and here's to hoping 24 is a great one!!

A little late, but Valentines day recap!

It was soo nice to have Valentines day on a Saturday this year. A great time to just spend some good quality time with Adam. ( Not that I don't do that all the time, but ohh well!) So it actually started out on Friday, I came home to beautiful roses, which opened up very nicely. And we just kicked back and watched some TV. We also started making homemade Cinnamon rolls for V-day morning. I woke up, popped them in the oven and the smell alone woke Adam up. We ate those in bed while watching our beloved Food TV!! For lunch/brunch we had chicken salad with crackers and MIMOSAS!!! That's right, when my hubby bought me flowers he also got a couple bottles of Champagne to enjoy. So we had one bottle for brunch, then saved the other for after dinner ( which we didn't drink) Dinner consisted of prime fillet, shoestring french fries, and broccoli. Followed by Ina Gartens Brownie Pudding. Which I highly recommend! It was DELICIOUS. Days like that remind me how much I love my husband, and how good he is to me.

didn't they open up nicely?

Though we don't "celebrate" Valentines day with gifts( other than flowers) anymore, it is a great day for some couples to reconnect. I hear a lot of girls say that Valentines day is a "Hallmark Holiday" and it just makes me sad. Because as much as ANYONE wants to think that they don't care about the " Hallmark Holiday" or Valentines Day, a piece of them wishes that someday, someone will do something special for them. I've been lucky enough to find that person when we were very young, and also fortunate enough to know that he will also never completely disregard any special day.

Next up: Birthday events!

Happy Valentines Day!

I pulled this from The Pettijohn's!!!

What are your middle names? Adam's is Kyle and mine is Elaine

How long have you been together? 8 year:) Married for a little under two!!!

How long did you know each other before you started dating? Well, it depends on what your definition of knowing someone is. We met probably for the first time in the 4th grade. We played soccer for the same club team, and one of his neighbors was on my team!

Who asked who out? Um, I guess in high school, you don't " date" per say, but he asked me out!

How old were each of you when you met? Again, it depends. We starting " going out" when I was 15, and he was 16!!

How old are each of you now? Adam is 24, and I turn 24 on Monday!

How tall are each of you? I am 5'2" and Adam is 5'11".

Whose siblings do you see the most? Adam's, she lives in NYC, and comes to visit, and vice versa!

Do you have any children together? Nope.

What about pets? 3, two dogs, Louie and Bailey, and a cat, Siren

Did you go to the same school? High School, College nope, but I lived in his college town and commuted!

Are you from the same hometown? Yup!!!

Who is the smartest? He is, though he tends to forget things alot. But I don't!:)

Who is the most sensitive? I am, isn't it always the girl?

Where do you eat out most as a couple? Um, no where in particular. Since this is our last semester here, we've decided to take advantage of the amazing Philly food scene. We're been to a few places a couple of time. Mercato is a BYO that he took me too last year for my birthday, it's YUMMY so we have been back!

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? I'm not good with Geography, but I would say either, Germany, France, or Spain. Whichever is furthest away!

Who does the cooking? Both of us. I enjoy baking more, but I do cook. We try to cook together every night. It's what we do!

Who is more social? I wouldn't say either one of us is a social butterfly. We both enjoy staying at home whenever possible. We like each others company, and a good movie and wine!:)

Who is the neat-freak? Gosh, I wish one of us was. Our house would be much tightier!

Who hogs the bed? Um, the furbabies. It's sad, we move around them, as to not disturbe them!

Who wakes up earlier? I do, I am not really a morning person, but once I'm up, I'm alright!

Who has the bigger family? Adam.

How do you spend the holidays? It depends, hopefully since we plan on moving back to Dallas it won't be an issue anymore!:)

Who is more jealous? I guess me?

Do you have little pet names for each other? We very rarely call each other by our names. If we do it just sounds weird. Mostly it's " Honey" but recently I've been calling him Muffin! Weird I know!

How long did it take to get serious? Um, we were in high school. I knew if we made it through our Freshman year of college we would get married!

Who eats more? Adam for sure, he doesn't gain a pound either... one of these days!

Who sings better? Um, neither, our kids are doomed to be tone deaf!

Who’s older? He is, but only by 2 months!

Who does the dishes? IF we do the dishes, usually it's a team effort!

Who snores? The Dog!

Who’s better with the computer? It depends on what is going on. He's better at programs, I'm better at searching for information.

Who drives when you are together? um... I really have no idea. We are usually always in my car, but it depends on where we are going who drives!

Who is the first to admit when they're wrong? I'm pretty stubborn, but I usually cave first, because it's usually my fault.

Who kissed who first? He kissed me first, sitting upstairs at his house watching Malcolm in the Middle, after everyone else went home!

Who eats more sweets? Oh that is a toss up!! We both have sweet tooth's? sweet teeth?

I'm learning to make my own headers, and playing with it. Then I'll fix the background!:) Thanks!

2-9-01

8 years ago Adam asked me to " go out with him." And we've been together every since. Never a day " broken up" or anything, which is something to popular to do in High School. Honey, even after 8 years, 2921 days, 70,126 hours, I am still madly in love with you. I look forward to going to bed with you, and waking up with you, EVERY day. I look forward to my goodbye kisses, and my "I'm home" kisses! I MUST be the luckiest girl in the world. ( I was going to post some old pictures of us from high school and college, but I'm at work and don't have any, maybe when I get home!!)

Last night we went to a cute little French restaurant to celebrate. Though we don't really do anything it was just a way to go out to dinner at a nice place! It was yummy! While we were sitting there we even found the place we're going to go for my birthday next Monday. Mad Mex, it's Mexican, sounds sooo good. There really are not to many Mexican food places around here. LOTS of Italian though!

Well on another note: The realtor came and did a walk through, and sadly thinks we should list the house for a significant amount less than we bought it for, IF we want it to sell within a reasonable amount of time. Which we do of course! So now we have a few repairs we need to do, then HOPEFULLY by March 1, it will be on the market! It would be nice if we can sell it within the month, but I'm not holding my breath!! Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Got what I want...

SNOW!!! Mother nature is really spoiling me this winter. She must know it'll be my last winter here in Philly. On Tuesday it snowed during the day, the weather man didn't think it would be a big storm. Well, of course, he was wrong. We probably got 5 or 6 inches. Needless to say, I didn't go to work.( Great benefit of being a temp!) So I spent the day cleaning our house. We have a realtor coming to do a walk through on Saturday, so I wanted to make it as much like it would be if it were an open house. I didn't get as much done as hoped, becuase I fell asleep!! But I did get a few loads of laundry done which was nice!

Today I'm here at work, another day another dollar. I was glad to see something new in the kitchen though. Soo all the kitchen here are equipped with what's called a Flavia machine. It's one of the coffee machines that makes individual cups of coffee, but this makes tea and coffee and hot chocolate and stuff. I usually just do the hot chocolate becuase I'm always cold, and I don't really drink coffee. Today when I went in they had a new hot chocolate. DOVE, how could Dove hot chocolate not be good!!:) Well it's GREAT! A great way to warm up with a little yummy flavor. I might have another!

Not much going here, just waiting for the realtor, and probably playing some poker this weekend. Getting geared up for V-day and MY BIRTHDAY!:) Though 24, isn't really that exciting of a birthday... oh well!

Wanna be green?

Here's an easy way!

I've been meaning to post this since Christmas, because I was THAT excited about one of our gifts! My sis-in-law Laura, shared with me a GREAT alternative to those plastic bags you get at the grocery store, or even those cheap $1 reusable bags you can buy at the store. They are called envirosax. They are GREAT. I got a 5 pack of the graphic series, ours are botanica. They are wonderful. I can't say enough about them. They are large, so a full grocery cart of stuff will fit in about 5 of them. You can load them up with stuff, but they don't tear or rip, and for some reason don't really seem that heavy because you can throw them over your shoulder. They are washable, so if you get anything on them, say from chicken or beer, you can wash them. Best of all they are pretty!

For $40 you can get a set of five bags, that come in a very compact pack. They roll up really small, and I even carry my 5 pack in my purse, so if I ever need a bag to carry something I have them. I urge you to go to their website and take a look. It's an easy way to help our the environment by not using plastic bags. If your grocery store is like ours, they might even give you a discount for not using their bags:) So go check them out. Envirosax
Here is one of our five bags:)

I caved...25 Things

Here it goes:

1. I have a degree in Interior Design, yet I work in Accounts Payable for a Tax software company! It's only temporary though.

2. My favorite Super Bowl commercial was the Pedigree Commercial for adopting a dog. haha the Rhino with his head out the window!

3. When talking on G-chat or something similar, I put at LEAST one ! at the end of every sentence!

4.I love to bake, not really cook though, that's Adam's area!

5. I WILL be that mom that has fresh baked goods after school everyday! I have to make sure my kids play sports or they could be in trouble;)

6. I got the exact speed limit in school zone, this drives my husband NUTS!

7. I am terrified of how long it's going to take us to sell our house.

8. I'm going to start a food blog.

9. I tend to take off clothes and shoes and leave them there. I'm really bad about this.

10. I love to vacuum. Always have.

11. I hate folding laundry, putting it in the washer, then the dryer I can handle, but folding... ugg

12.My Husband and I are best friends. Have been since we were 15.

13. I have only kissed two people. My junior high boyfriend, who happened to also be the Best man at my wedding, and Adam:)

14. Our idea of a good night is getting some good food to cook, maybe a bottle of wine, and watching DVR'd TV.

15. We have two DVR's, and STILL have shows that overlap. We watch too much TV.

16. I watch EVERY episode of American Idol.

17. I read the Twilight Series in like 2 weeks, in September. Then carried on to read 16 more books in 2008.

18. We treat our dogs like kids. We talk to them, and talk for them. They sleep with us, and we arrange ourselves so as to not disturb them. It's silly.

19. If our littlest dog Bailey, can manage to not run away or get hit by a car for the next 3 months, we'll be happy.

20. I try to be environmentally friendly in anyway I can.

21. I love going to the grocery store.

22. We bought 5 boxes of Girl Scout cookies at the grocery store yesterday.
