I've known for a long time that Dylan was a water child. But now I know that Graham is too. One of his favorite phrases is " wimming pool?" I feel very lucky that my boys don't seem to be afraid of much of anything. But at the same time that is a little scary!:0)
This year, we didn't so swim lessons. Mainly, because it was far away. like a thirty minuet commute for a 30 minuet lesson. Wasn't worth it to me this year. Dylan became an expert with the Puddle Jumper thank goodness. So it was pretty easy to take them both to the pool alone.
Graham loves to sit on the steps, and throw balls and the like at me to go fetch. He doesn't mind being dunked either, so we will probably try swim lesson's with both of them next year. With someone closer to the house, hopefully.
We have been lucky enough to have a pretty mild summer, but that means limited pool time for my zero percent body fat boys. Ok fine, boy. Dylan gets soo cold so easily, that unless it is 100 degrees outside, he turns purple and starts shaking. I wish I were kidding, but it's true. So we haven't been to the pool as much as I would have liked ( it makes them sleep really well), we've been a hand full of times.
Daddy went with us once when I remembered my camera, so I was able to get all these pictures. You can really see how much they love the water. But they equally love the park, so I'm ready for some more mild temperatures, so we can start doing picnics in the park again!

Dinner and Tournament
Last weekend, we got to let Dylan experience a first. We went to Medieval times. It was Erin's girlfriends birthday, so we were all invited. Dylan was super excited, as we had told him the night before we were going to a castle. Side note: every night almost he asked if we " are going somewhere" the next day, so we answered him. Any who, the next morning he asked constantly when we were going, and began asking for a sword. A red one to be exact!
After getting there early, and having to wait outside in the heat, we were glad to go in. And low and behold, they had RED swords, right as we walked in. We got two, of course, and it set us back $30. Man, kids are expensive!;) Also, Graham broke his before the show even started!
Dylan was super into it. Graham, we didn't buy a seat, so he had to sit in laps, he was fine with that, but about half way through the show, he got a little bored. He pounded some food though, the kid can eat. Dylan would ask about bad guys and wave his flag enthusiastically when our RED Knight would come out! He loved it.
Overall, the experience would have been more enjoyable had we gotten a sitter for Graham ( it was right during nap time as well) but I think we all had fun, and of course, Dylan has asked to go back to the "castle"several times since.

Long weekend
Pool Party USA 2013 |
Girls at the tailgate |
, got some other easy things and we went home to light up the sky.
Friday, Adam took the day off, and we went to KidMania in the morning, before he had a tee time for golf. That of course took all day, so the boys and I just hung out at home, and we prepared for our Saturday festivities.
Up we go! |
We rounded out our holiday weekend playing at home. It was a great weekend, and now I'm looking forward even more to our vacation in about a month. Then of course Labor day weekend. I love when Adam doesn't have to go to work!:)
