{The Reveal}

Alright, I know it's not completely done, but I'm tired of waiting, we need to move the recliner into our room, so here is Graham's humble abode. It is VERY different from Dylan's. Dylan's is much more of a kids room. With Graham, I wanted to do a more modern feel. I knew I wanted to do gray walls, so after selecting 9 different grays to slap on the wall, I finally found the "perfect" gray. I also can't help myself with stripes for some reason. Maybe it's because I didn't have to paint them myself this time, who knows.

This room was a little bit of a challenge for me because I had to find a color scheme to work with that involved a red recliner. When I purchased it for Dylan, I didn't really think about having to use it in another room. Because it was so expensive, though great, we decided to move it to Grahams room and purchase a cheaper, not as comfy or convenient, chair for Dylan's room.

I still need to work on the bookcase. It's hard, because whatever is up there, Dylan can pull off, which is why the bottom two shelves are lacking a little in "decor"

I am usually completely anti- monogram. I think that people go over board with them, but with this room, I wanted something different, so I had a piggy bank made, as well as put a G on his bedding. The coo coo clock was my moms. That was the one thing she requested from Adam and I's trip to Germany. It was brown, so a little spray paint, and it works in the room.

This time I went with custom bedding. I know Graham will not care at all, so I picked a damask, a little girly yes, but I LOVE IT!

The art work is 100% done by Big brother to be. All I did was paint the background and let him have at it. The middle one, he had brushes in his hands. The outside ones, I took the brushes away, so they look a little different. I'm super happy with the way they came out, and I also learned that buying canvas' and letting him paint is a really good way to kill time during the day!

Love his name.

Adam the handy man's work. He had to hard wire this lamp into the ceiling, but hey, I originally wanted to put hardwood floors in, so he really lucked out.

I totally had to move Dylan's changing pad in for the pictures. We are going to see if we can get away without having to buy another one, so really the only thing on this is the lamp! Graham won't actually be living in here for a few more weeks anyway!

So there you have it folks, Graham's room. I'm sure I'm forgetting pictures of something that y'all want to see, so if so, feel free to email me and let me know! It's a far cry from Dylan's nursery yes?

Sneak Peek

In honor of Graham's furniture being delivered tomorrow, I thought that I would do a little nursery post. Not that there is a lot to say or show at this moment, but hey, the nursery is one of the most fun parts of having a baby!:)

As mentioned in this post, we decided to use Dylan's glider for the new room because, it is awesome. So we purchased a new, not as awesome chair, for Dylan's room, and are using the red one for Graham. I am not a big "theme" person, so we just go with colors. Grahams room is going to have such a different feel to it than Dylan's. Much more modern and adult I guess you could say. Dylan's is definitely a kiddo's room, and I still do love it.

So far, all we have done is painted the walls, with hired help, and let me tell you, that was the BEST money we have spent. We went from "builder beige" to a nice Gray with white stripes, which I'm happy to report I LOVE! We have also hung a new light fixture, ( Not pictured at this time) and Adam made me a built in for the closet. I don't have a finished picture of the closet, but don't worry, it will be in the whole "finished nursery" post

I have also picked out some mirrors for above his changing table, a hamper, and some changing pads. With some help from other blogs and nursery sites, I pretty much know what else I need. Such as drawer organizers, a throw for the chair, curtains, and wall art. Luckily, I have a pretty good idea of what I want, and where to buy it, so this room will come together pretty quickly I do believe. Which I guess is good since I just passed the 6 month mark, and this little boy will be here in 3 very short months!

Mind consuming

Since finding out about kiddo #2, my brain has been consumed with nothing but nursery ideas. It's amazing, because as a second time mom, I should know that it isn't really all that important. I was the same way with Dylan though, I had to find the perfect bedding, paint colors, decor everything. It hurts my brain to think about it still.

Once finding out it was a boy, I was all set on colors and fabrics and furniture. Then Adam through me a curve ball. " Lets use the chair from Dylan's room, it's so comfy, we'll buy a new chair for his room since we don't use it much." It's a sad thing, but yes, my baby doesn't like to be rocked in his chair. He prefers to climb it! But anyway, off track. You see, the chair is RED. yes, what was I thinking? Red really threw a dent in my plains of green, orange and navy! So, we changed plans.

We are now doing gray, white and red. So of course, I bothered Adam with ideas for a week. I picked up 9 different grays to try out on the walls, and finally, on the 9th color found the perfect light gray, that isn't too light, or too dark. The perfect gray. It was hard I'll tell you. We hopefully we have the room painted in the next few weeks, so I'll post pictures along the way!!

Today, we are going to be purchasing new baby furniture, ordering baby bedding, and spending a nice day getting pedicures all the while, Dylan is spending the day with Grandma and Grandpa having a blast! I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
